Frequently Asked Questions

Frequently Asked Questions
Can I invest in more than one strategy?

Yes. We understand that our clients have varying needs and may want to be invested in multiple strategies simultaneously. Please talk to your Wealthjar advisor about this approach.

Can I trade in my account?

When you open an account with Wealthjar, you grant trading authority to Wealthjar and Schwab Wealth Investment Advisory, as an agent of Wealthjar, to buy and sell ETFs for your account based on the investment strategy we have chosen for you. You may not conduct trades in your account.

The unfortunate truth is that most DIY investors let their emotions get the best of them and try to time the market during major economic events. History has shown that this is an inefficient (losing) strategy and that most investors would have done better if they had just left their money where it was. At Wealthjar, we’re here to steady your game. We will help you stick it out to reap the long term rewards.

Is my account secure?

We have chosen to work with Charles Schwab & Co. as the custodian for your account because they provide:

  • The Schwab Security Guarantee, so your personal and financial information is protected.
  • SchwabSafe, a collection of security measures designed to keep your personal and financial information safe online.
What is a financial plan?

A financial plan is a long-term strategy your advisor creates based on your priorities, goals, and financial circumstances. The goal of a financial plan is to enable you to live well in the present while providing a road map to reach future goals, as well as preparation for unexpected events.

As a fee-based advisor, we are able to align our interests with those of our clients. We never accept commissions for trades or other investment products

What is re-balancing?

What is tax loss harvesting?

If your account contains $50,000 or more, you are eligible for our free tax loss harvesting program. Tax loss harvesting is where we generate tax losses in your account in order to offset potential capital gains. This results in a lower taxes on the potential capital gains in your Wealthjar account.
